Molly Turns 5, Party Time!

Molly's Birthday party was saturday the 7th after Carter's basketball game. Robbie went half-way to Glasgow and met his brother Brad at 8am to get cousin Madyson so she could be here for the party. Her brother Mason had a ball game so their family was not able to make it. It was, however, very important to Molly for Madyson to be here for the party! Let me tell you, when you get two little 4 and 5 year old girls together....you get LOUD and DRAMA and lots and lots of GIGGLES! They had such a fun day together!

Bubble Wrap...serious. All the presents that were un-wrapped and the bubble wrap stole the show. Thanks, Aunt Aimee. It was a hit! haha!

Thanks to Jennifer (sweet Pierce's mom!) Molly had the PERFECT little girl cake!! I hope Molly's birthday wishes all come true!

So, I tried to delete one of these, but obviously I don't know how, so here are TWO pictures of Molly and her Autumn. She LOVES her Autumn. It is so fun for me to watch these two together. They really are good friends and have been for a few years! Autumn is almost 13 and Molly is 5. Perfect example that age doesn't really matter!

Molly's birthday party was Pierce's FIRST birthday invite...so it was kind of a big deal! I wanted to make sure to document it! I was so happy that his mommy worked it into her schedule to be able to come. Jennifer SPOILES my kids rotten. Robbie and I were joking around that we are going to have to get Pierce a Corvette for his first birthday! :) Sweet boy and his sweet mommy!

My friend Kira made these precious PRINCESS CAKE POPS for Molly's special day. LOVE! She also made the awesome pink and green tissue paper poof balls that are hung above the table. She is SO talented and so sweet to help make Molly's princess party so fun and perfect! Thank you SANTA KIKI! ha!

Brayden and his cousin, Caleb. These two are great friends and LOVE to play with each other. Caleb gets to come to his dad's every other weekend and his favorite thing is to see his cousins. He is the sweetest thing. He always has a hug for everyone and is so fun to talk to- he is SO dramatic! Love both of these boys!

Molly and her Autumn!

Carter, Brayden, Caleb, Autumn, Molly, and Madyson- enjoying some Pizza Hut pizza and chips and cokes and m&m's! Notice Carter dodging the picture- I tell you, this kid is going through some stage where he does not like his picture taken! Stinker!

The birthday girl and cousin Madyson! I am so glad that Brad and Laura had a girl! These two are a hoot!

I put this little picture on the cake table. It is Molly on her first birthday. I know. Precious.

Cake and goody bag table- love those tissue paper poof balls! They are now hanging from Molly's ceiling in her bedroom!

Happy 5th Birthday, Sweet Molly Mae Coots!

We love you SOOOOOOO much!!!!

MVP Carter

Carter was awarded the first Leader of the Month for 2012. I was happy to get to go to a little program where he was recognized. I am proud of him and for his sweet personality and for his good attitiude. He is so smart and he is a good friend and he tries his best. His teachers always have wonderful things to say about him and I am glad that he is growing into a responsible young man! (BUT he is still my baby!) He had his first basketball game on saturday and he did SO well! He scored 12 points for his team and also did so great at passing the ball and being a good team player. Several parents around us commented on what a great player he is. Basketball is for sure Carter's sport. He really has a talent and he LOVES the game. I am excited about this basketball season and going to his games on saturday mornings and cheering him on!

January 5th, 2011 MOLLY MAE

My BABY is FIVE. My baby. This is serious. :) She picked Cracker Barrel for her birthday dinner so we invited Grandma Judy (Papa had a meeting in Nashville!). Molly ordered a pancake, a chicken tender, and a baked potato. She was more excited to get the meal over with so she could open up her new baby doll and stroller that she picked out in the little store on the way in!
Earlier in the day when our little friend Pierce arrived for us to babysit him, he brought Molly a special delivery! She actually hung up on Papa Ostermiller who had just called to wish her a Happy Birthday when she saw the loot that Pierce had brought her! Sorry Papa, Hellp Kitty won! Thank you, Pierce and his mommy Jennifer for helping to make Molly's birthday morning special!

After we dropped the boys off at school Molly requested Chickfila, so of course, that is where we went! :) She had a biscuit, chicken nuggets, and a Dr. Pepper for breakfast! I got her all situated on the recliner, put Caillou on the flat screen, and she was set! :)
A little after she started eating, my friend Kira called and said "I am at the Chickfila drive-thru, does the birthday girl want anything?" I told her that Molly already has Chickfila and then Molly informed us that she would like a chocolate milkshake....so, you guessed it, she then got a chocolate milkshake delivered to her front door!!!! I know, she gets NO attention.

The phone calls then started coming in.....so many fans, so little time! ha!

We let Molly open the gifts from us the night before her birthday so she wouldn't be tortured the whole day of her birthday while daddy was at work and the boys were at school. Robbie leaves for work at 5am so we couldn't get up and do presents in the morning.

The day before her birthday was a pre-school day, so Molly took cupcakes for her class. She was excited to be the birthday girl and for them to sing the special birthday song to her!

Molly Mae, I love you so much. You make our family so happy. You are so caring and so funny. You love crafts and you are always singing. You love to sing primary songs and you know about every song that is on the radio. You are very concerned about the feelings of others. You are a great friend and LOVE to have friends over. You love to be read to. Mommy is going to try harder to hold still more often and read to you more. I promise. You love pre-school. I can't believe you are going to kindergarten in August. You love to draw pictures. I love it when you draw a picture of you and I together and give it to me. I know that you think it is the greatest compliment to me and I love it. I keep a lot of those little scraps of paper. One day you will see the big box of treasures that mommy has. You love baby dolls. You are a little mommy. You change your babies diapers often. You talk to and kiss your babies lots. You are very nice and gentle to your babies, too. You are going to be a good mommy one day. I am so happy that I get to be your mommy. I love you to the moon. And back.

Christmas Day 2011

Christmas morning the first words I heard were out of the mouth of my sleepy voiced, shivering 4 year old Molly "Mommy, he came!". The kids ran over to their piles of presents from Santa and quickly realized that their Christmas wishes had come true! Carter's wish was for a Kindle Fire. Brayden's, an iPod Touch. And Molly's, a Baby Alive that poop's and pee's. All three of them oooh'd and ahh'd with excitement as they tore through their gifts. I sat on the couch and just watched and I felt....happy.

After the Santa presents were open we slowed things down and went around the room and took turns opening gifts so we could see what everyone got. We had to be at church at 10am to we all got ready and actually got to church on time! After church we came back home and ate some more yummy food and had Judy and Papa over to share it with us and to see what the kids got for Christmas. After they left we all went over to the nursing home to see Papaw and wish him a Merry Christmas. Jenny even took him one of her homemade cinnamon rolls...they are HOLY YUMMY! I love going to visit Papaw. This year I am going to try to go and see him more often. We live so close to him and I know that one day I am going to regret not going more often. I know that just a five minute visit means so much to him.

We had another great Christmas with WAY too many presents and WAY too many treats and we are so thankful for all of our blessings and friends and family! :)

Christmas Eve 2011

We were excited again this year to have my mom and dad, (Nana and Papa Ostermiller), and my sister Jenny come and stay with us on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. As usual, they came with a car full to the roof with presents and the kids ran out to help them haul everything in and put it all under the tree. They also brought lots of Christmas goodies to add to those that we already had so there was not a lack of sweets here for sure! We had a little bit of an unusual Christmas Eve dinner this year. We were a little tired of Ham, so I just cooked a bunch of different stuff and we ate on it saturday and sunday. I cooked a turkey breast, chili, pepperoni rolls, homemade meatballs, hashbrown casserole, pigs in a blanket, sugar cookies, toffee bark, and baybe a few other things and my mom made onion dip and shrimp dip and lots of treats and Jenny made homemade cinnamon rolls. We had plenty to fill our tummys! We have a little board book that is a simple Nativity story that we have read on Christmas Eve for several years now and have had the kids dress up and act out the parts of Mary and Joseph. I usually read the little story and have the kids just dress up. Brayden has struggled with his reading over the past few years and has become such a good little reader so I thought it would be a fun surprise for everyone if I asked him if he would like to read the story this year. He was a little nervous when I asked him but I assured him that he could do it and that I would be right there if he needed help. Molly dressed up as Mary and picked out a baby doll to be Jesus and Carter was Joseph. Brayden read that story so perfectly. I was so proud of him. He was so confident and read so clearly. And that was such a big deal for him. He is so smart. We let the kids open a few presents on Christmas Eve since we had to be at church at 10am on sunday. Robbie picked out a special gift for each kid that was just from him and the kids thought that was really neat. Carter got the UK jersey he has been wanting. Brayden got a Corvette model. And Molly got a Discovery playhouse (she got one last year, too). Molly also opened a puppet theater so Nana and Papa played that with her for a while. I believe that Papa got kicked out of that party, though. It was fun for the kids to be able to open a few things to help the anticipation a little! Molly was SO excited about Santa. She kept asking Papa to go outside with her to see if they could see Santa "going around in circles above our house waiting for the lights to turn off". She sprinkled her glittery reindeer food outside earlier in the evening and was just giddy with anticipation! She told us right before bed "when I am in bed, if I hear Santa, I am just going to keep my eyes closed and pretend that I am asleep because I don't want him to leave!" My sweet little believer!!!

Ryan, How Many Kids Do You Want?

On Christmas Eve we went to my friend Kira's house for brunch. She and her husband, Ryan (also known as Rin-Tin-Tin HA!) are the parents of Zane, who I get to babysit during the week when his mommy and daddy work. Kira and I have become close friends, and let me tell you, this chick is FUNNY. Like, make you laugh until your drink comes out of your nose kind of funny. Us Coots brought hashbrown casserole and bacon and Mountain Dew. Yep, Mountain Dew. And the hostess, Kira, made some YUMMY caramel french toast stuff and waffles for the kids and we cooked eggs and had orange juice and milk. It was super yummy! After we ate we exchanged presents. Kira gave Molly a Princess tent and I believe that Molly's exact words were "oh mamma, I have been wanting one of these for my whole entire life!" I am so glad she got one....home girl has waited a whole four years. Kira gave the boys remote control cars which they loved! She also made the kids caramel corn and reindeer cake pops that were adorable. I may or may not have eaten Molly's when we got home.

I had to post this picture of Ryan because I TOLD him I was going to take it and he said "I'm not much for taking pictures" in his usual Ryan voice. I told him all he had to do was smile. Turd. Anyhow, I was laughing at him because when we came in with our three little tornados I thought he was going to have a heart attack. He is used to little one year old Zane quietly scooting around with his little toys and he seriously sat there like he was in shock. My boys were throwing balls and sitting on the little scooters and racing across the hardwood floors like maniacs. Molly was picking up the three little dogs and squeezing them until they squealed and then barked at her and then she would run to us crying and whining and then a ball would hit something and then the boys would start wrestling....it was hilarious! I asked Ryan before we left if us being there made him want more kid and, in his normal Ryan voice, he said, "No." :)
