Rags to Riches...or a chalkboard

I love going to thrift stores and finding treasures that have potential. I am for sure not even close to being as good at this as my mom and my friend Jennifer...but I still enjoy it. Yesterday, Molly was at her BFF's (Autumn Reynolds) and Carter went out to eat with Judy and Papa and the man was still at work. I told Brayden that if he went to Goodwill with me I would get him a double scoop at Baskin Robbins. After much debate (the kid hates Goodwill!) he agreed. Before we even went in the store he said "mom, this is the nastiest store I have ever seen in my whole life and it is just filled with junk...and we hav PLENTY of junk at our house already!". Ok, so maybe certain members of this family have yet to learn the art of thrift store shopping. I wish I had taken before pictures...I bought this huge frame for $4. It had a print in it of a big bowl of fruit. It didn't have glass in it and the print was actually painted onto a plywood sort of board. So, I borrowed Jennifer's chalkboard paint and just painted right over the print! I love how it looks! I have wanted a neat chalkboard and now I have one for $4! I am excited to use it as a countdown to holidays and for birthdays and special occaions. For now, we will have some house rules on it. I also got a mirror with a wooden frame at Goodwill a few weeks ago for $2 and right now (like, seriously, right now...I took a greak for it to dry!) I am painting it with the chalkboard paint and I am going to use it in my kitchen to write my grocery list on and maybe a little love note now and then to my hot man. :)
